Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working with NBC News in Washington D.C. she is a TV anchor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. Mitchell was employed as a reporter at KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in 1967. In 1976 she became a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). Then she joined NBC News Washington two years after that as an general reporter. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. She was made as the head White House correspondent by NBC News, in 1992. Mitchell hosted and was panelists on the TV program Meet the Press. She was a member of a panel for the 1988 debates between George Bush (then president) and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the spouse of Alan Greenspan who was former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has received numerous awards for her journalism achievements, such as an award called the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. The award was presented to her by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award by Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell first covered the White House for NBC News from 1981-1988 during both of Ronald Reagan's presidency. She reported on a variety of notable stories, including arm control, budget tax reform, and the Iran-contra scandal. She also was frequently with the president Reagan to meetings alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world leaders.
